Sound trails, mountain hikes, alpine routes...

Hiking in Wildhaus

Toggenburg is one of the most beautiful hiking regions in Switzerland and offers an extraordinary variety of trails for every type of hiker. Relaxed pleasure hiking is just as possible as challenging alpine tours to the Alpstein or Churfirsten peaks. Choose from short and easy lakeside walks, high-altitude treks lasting several days, or various theme trails for families and adults. Here are a few of our favorite examples:

Toggenburg sound trail

The Sound Path offers a beautiful and varied hike, combined with the sonorous experience of 27 sound installations along the path.

Toggenburger Höhenweg, stage Wildhaus - Selunalp

This first stage of the famous high-altitude trail is 14 km long and offers a fantastic view of the Churfirsten peaks. By the way: Selunalp is located very close to the famous prehistoric Wildenmannlisloch Cave.

Toggenburg Legend Trail

Ghostly ladies, wild men, and old haunts: this circular theme trail on the Chäserrugg is particularly suitable for families and children. It revives the world of Toggenburg myths and legends in an exciting and thrilling way.

Gamserrugg Geological Circular Path

An interesting hike of 5 km length, answering many questions about the geological development of the mountains. The trail starts at Gamsalp, leads over cattle and sheep pastures, and also offers the opportunity to observe marmots in the wild.

Chäserrugg hikes

Chäserrugg mountain near Alt St. Johann offers a multitude of hikes on the Rosenboden, to the Schwendisee, with views of Walensee lake and Churfirsten peaks.
